Copywriter

Job Description

We are looking for a highly organised Copywriter / Content Coordinator to manage the planning, writing, coordination, delivery, and scheduling of client content across website copy, blog content, SEO content, organic social media, and occasional internal marketing projects.

This role suits someone who is not only a strong writer, but also comfortable managing multiple client deadlines, working from briefs, coordinating with designers and developers, maintaining content trackers, and ensuring monthly deliverables are sent, approved, edited, and scheduled on time.

The successful candidate will work closely with our account, SEO, design, development, and sales teams to keep client content moving smoothly from onboarding through to delivery. and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Copywriting

  • Write monthly website/blog copy for ongoing clients.
  • Work from onboarding questionnaires, meeting transcripts, client information, and internal briefs.
  • Prepare client-ready copy using existing templates and brand information.
  • Maintain organized client folders in Google Drive.
  • Track each client’s monthly content status, including written, sent, edited/approved, and scheduled.
  • Send monthly copywriting deliverables to clients using approved email templates.
  • Manage client edits and approvals when feedback is received.
  • Coordinate with developers to upload or schedule approved content to client websites.
  • Prepare simple design instructions for blog-related assets such as headers, thumbnails, or title graphics where required.

Organic Social Media Content

  • Write monthly organic social media content for client accounts.
  • Prepare post copy, design instructions, image references, brand color guidance, and supporting notes for designers.
  • Coordinate social media design requests through the internal project management system.
  • Maintain client-specific templates and folders for social media content.
  • Send social media content to clients for review and approval.
  • Track approvals, edits, and scheduling status.
  • Schedule approved social posts through SocialPilot or a similar social scheduling platform.
  • Coordinate with internal approvers to ensure scheduled posts are checked before publication.

SEO Copywriting

  • Write SEO-focused website content based on content plans supplied by the SEO team.
  • Create or rewrite content for:
    ○ Blog posts
    ○ Service pages
    ○ Location pages
    ○ Thin or duplicate website pages
    ○ Website optimisation projects
  • Follow supplied SEO instructions, including target keywords, page type, internal linking requirements, and content structure.
  • Submit completed SEO copy to developers for website upload.
  • Notify the SEO team when copy needs checking or further optimization.
  • Work collaboratively with the SEO team, while understanding that technical SEO tasks such as title tags, meta descriptions, audits, and reporting data are handled separately.

SEO Report Support

  • Assist with monthly SEO reports by updating content-related sections.
  • Add details about content delivered during the current reporting period.
  • Add planned content for the next reporting period.
  • Proofread report sections prepared by the SEO team.
  • Work in Canva or similar tools to update client-facing reports.
  • Communicate with the SEO team via Slack or similar internal communication tools when report sections are complete.

Once-Off Copywriting Work

  • Complete ad hoc website copywriting and occasional one-off social media or website optimisation copy tasks.
  • Work from briefs submitted via the internal project management system.
  • Return completed copy to the relevant salesperson, account manager, or internal requester for client delivery.
  • Manage changing priorities across recurring monthly work and one-off jobs.

Appendix/ Proposal Document Preparation

  • Prepare appendix-style client documents using supplied request form information.
  • Use existing Google Docs templates to create client-ready scope/cost documents.
  • Download, combine, and prepare documents for internal use or client delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 2+ years of copywriting or content coordination experience (agency preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field.
  • Writing portfolio showing web copy, blogs, and social media posts.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Basic understanding of SEO content writing.
  • Experience with Google Drive, Google Docs, and basic spreadsheet tracking.
  • Experience using social media scheduling tools (e.g., SocialPilot, Hootsuite).
  • Familiarity with Canva, Slack, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, ClickUp).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills for working with client managers, designers, and developers.
